Cost of a New gov.uk Domain  The cost for registering a new gov.uk domain is £110 plus VAT.   This fee covers the first year of registration and includes the annual maintenance for your domain. Please note that the £10 Nominet fee is included in this cost.  Under the new registry provider, Nominet, domain owners have the option for multi-year registrations below are the costs associated with each registration period, including the Nominet fee but excluding VAT:

All organisations applying either for a new domain name, or modification, in the ac.uk domain must have an Approved Registrar Membership Account with Jisc, unless they are connected to the Janet network. There is no charge for organisations having an Approved Registrar Membership Account. However, this facility is generally only available to organisations who anticipate that they will be submitting a number of domain name requests through Jisc.
