Dr Craig Gallen hails from Belfast but currently lives in Southampton. For nearly 20 years he worked in industry first as as a broadcast engineer at Arqiva and subsequently as a product manager at Nortel Networks before leaving to research the use of Open Source Software in Telecommunications at the University of Southampton. His research interests include open source, network management and web science. He currently represents the OpenNMS project in the UK.
