Question: 'View Source' feature when editing documents in library

Hello,
Why is it that when I edit some documents in the library I have the option to view source and edit the HTML via the button to the right of the Image button yet on other documents this 'view source' button is missing? This isn'ta a problem since I can still edit the HTML by disabling rich text at the bottom of the edit area (and switch back to page view by clicking enable rich text).

Hi Ed,

You are able to see the source code button on documents which use the "Full HTML" text format as opposed to the "Filtered HTML" format. We are moving towards using Filtered HTML for all library documents, however some of the older documents are still in the Full HTML format because they were created before we fixed the text format. Hope this helps.
