 Arcus Global portal to AWS Jisc, in co-operation with AWS and Arcus Global, has a billing and management portal into AWS. The portal provides an easy procurement route for the purchase of AWS services. As well as providing straightforward administrative facilities, it offers many features including: monthly invoicing - credit cards are no longer required for payment itemized billing - consolidated across users/departments billing in GBP, not dollars setting of budget limits for individual user accounts or departments the retrieval of service usage information within own areas of responsibility volume-discounts through aggregation across multiple educational institutions The service was procured under EU rules - for more details please see VEAT notice 2014/S 143-257744. Existing Arcus Global users can login to the portal at this link: https://aamp.arcusglobal.com New user organisations who wish to use the portal can do so via the Geant IaaS framework. Benefits of using Amazon Web Services (AWS) via Janet

Janet's peering arrangement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) will provide managed bandwidth for Janet members connecting to the AWS cloud, upon which institutions can leverage the flexible, pay as you go AWS Direct Connect service.
 
The Portal will enable users in the Janet community to procure AWS cloud services with new, additional benefits including:
·         monthly invoicing (no credit cards required for payment);
·         itemized billing, consolidated across users/departments;
·         billing in GBP, not dollars;
·         the ability to set spending-limits per user, or by department;
·         volume-discounts through aggregation across multiple HE institutions;
