Hi, when there was last a questionnaire/feedback session for JVCS, I asked when there will be a Mac client available for JVCS as currently it is excluding 10% of possible users at Loughborough. Do you have an update, as at the moment we are using non JVCS facilities for desktop video conferencing and would like to support Janet.

hi Matt,
As you are aware, JVCS uses Cisco's ConferenceMe for its desktop videoconferencing. Unfortunately Cisco has stated that it does not intend to provide a Mac client. As an alternative, the Janet-connected organisation, IOCOM, has a client (Visimeet) that is Mac and PC compatible. I'll send you an invitation to try it out for yourself. You can invite Visimeet participants to a videoconference that has been booked via the JVCS booking system (with desktop or room participants). If you're interested in that I can show you to to do it.
kind regards,
Phyllis

hi Bradley, sorry I didn't notice your question until now. Are you asking about a Linux client for Visimeet? If so, the Iocom developers are working on one at the moment. I'll let you know when it is ready to try.

kind regards,
Phyllis
