Gerry Reilly is the CTO of Health Data Research UK, the over-arching organisation to help support the devolopment of research using health data in the UK. It succeeds the successful partnership of the Farr Institute. Gerry describes the fast moving plans to create a "research platform" and the Digital Innovation Hub opportunity. Also the current call for Sprint Exemplar Innovation Projects.

Elizabeth described systems created and supported at her unit that support clinical research or clinical education. These are often also used extensively elsewhere in the UK, especially CRFManager. The NHS-HE challenges are described and the help that would be useful from the NHS-HE Forum.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have committed £200m over 10 years to their electronic patient record (EPR) e-Hospital programme. They were the first in the UK to implement Epic, an EPR system used by 40% of Academic Health Science Centres in North America. The system went live at the end of October 2014 in a "big bang" implementation.
